Treated Pine
A versatile and affordable choice, Treated Pine has been, as the name suggests, treated to prevent decay, fungi, and termites. It may not have the initial aesthetic appeal as many hardwoods but it can be stained or painted to achieve your desired look. It is a very budget-friendly option but make sure to oil it yearly to ensure that it will last.
Composite Decking
An environmentally friendly option, Composite Decking is made from a mix of wood fibres and recycled plastic. It comes in a variety of looks that can mimic other popular timbers like Jarrah and Silver Gum. While it is the most expensive option, it has a bunch of benefits that often make it worth the long-term investment. For example, it is extremely durable and is much less prone to warping, fading or rotting than traditional timber decks. It also requires very little maintenance – there’s no need to oil or stain it. All you have to do is wash it down with a Composite Deck Cleaner.
